I suppose there is a library of advice that can be given. That’s one of the things you learn in poker: to be able to improvise a strategy from nothing, to beat your opponents at their own game, to out-play them methodically and all the other things that make up successful poker. But there is another limit to the effect of re-stealing: you can’t move your money in or out of the pot without it.

For example, if you have raised for blinds before, you’re not necessarily committed to raising again. You can just call, and your opponent will still bet out. If someone re-steal your blind you would have to call to keep your investment while getting a chance at winning. This is still a profitable play, because your opponent doesn’t have a realistic chance of having a better hand than you do.

The strategy for an all-in bet is similar to the strategy for a raise. Once you put in a raise you should move all-in. The exception is that you can’t really call with the first primed cards you have, like 4s 4d. You can forward your bet in the hope of getting a ratio of your stack to your opponents, but when you have a good hand you want to make it an all-in bet.

This move is mostly used to represent a very strong hand. When you have a good hand you want your opponents to fold, and when you represent a very strong hand you want them to fold. It’s really used most against fish players that like to play a lot of hands. If someone calls your all-in bet it’s usually not worth going to war for, as the odds are very much in your favour.

If you have a smaller stack, and your opponent is betting very high, then you can call, and if you have a better hand than your opponent you can double up. To play the easier hand with out much risk if anything go to war, you will need a much bigger stack. For war is indeed the best solution. If you play to many hands, you will not win war, you will just lose, and this is a war you don’t want to be involved in.

The third card in the flop is the second most important to your hand, the one that completing your made hand. The values of these cards are a lot different when the flop comes, so it’s important to complete your hand and now calculate your odds.

Odds and outs might become less important, but they will still be relevant. The tide of the game will turn in your favour before too long. Always way to avoid getting hit is to make an all-in bet or a small raise, and to bet aggressively. By aggressive I mean keep on playing before your hand is made. Calling a strong bet by a fish, or slow playing a more decent hand, you could be in front of your opponent and be able to dominating the game.

When there are only two players in the game, a lot of hands can be played without much risk. The strong hand can be the winner. It doesn’t matter if your opponent calls or not, as you can still win. Avoid giving your opponents second best if you can, or better hands. They can’t always have a better hand. Bet strong to gain a heads up edge.
